College...this morning we spent the best part of 3 hours "learning" something we covered in our last college phase - that was assessed then too.

I sometimes think the college makes it up as they go along!!

Still - only another 4 or 5 weeks to go, then back to sea for 6 or 7 months out of 9! (Then 6-8 weeks at college and touch wood, qualify as an Officer Of the Watch lol)

SWMBO is in the list of potential people to be made redundant from her job. Tied in with her sickness record and it only getting worse I think it's a done deal that she's going to be either given the boot or redundancy will be the easier option for her employer. She's not coping at all well with the stresses and strains of working life, so in some respects it'd be good, but financially we are doomed if that's the case (n):bang: Just as things were starting to roll in our favour too :(

Unlucky. If her mental health issues are effecting her ability to work I'd be talking with a benefit's advisor.

My mum was suffering all sorts of mental illnesses stemming from undiagnosed post natal depression since I was born and it took her 20years to go speak with someone. 3 weeks later she was getting both help and support from the correct people and appropriate disability allowances.

This is exactly the kind of issues the benefit system is there to deal with!

Already on it! Getting some benefits at the moment, however not entitled to more as I earn too much (by a few quid), however my income barely covers my own debts and contribution towards joint stuff let alone taking it all on. Will sit down and work out what is absolutely essential to pay and what's not those that aren't will have to wait for their money! :( I hate to say this but here we go again.........

Just met the "new Health and Safety" person.

2 seconds after saying hello it was like...

"You can't use that...!"
"Where's your goggles...?"
"Where's your ear defenders...?"

So I just turn round and cut my job.

She then goes "this isn't a joking matter..."

So I goes..."Pfft...." And walked off.

She then goes up to my manager and tells him that I need telling on what safety gear I should be using as I didn't seem to care when she said it.

And my manager says to me ... Nothing.

And then told a 'colleague' I should get a slap on the wrist for it...

Obviously not knowing I work with my Dad...

So i said, "you'll only do it once, what you gonna do, get me sacked...? I'm leaving in a week and my new job want me ASAP,... so sure, help me out.

I've been hear nigh on 10 years, i kind of know what's safe by now.

Ain't nobody got time for that.

Jobsworth.

Rant over... Normal service will resume shortly.

Just why!!

I'd argue that it is more illegal as its causing an obstruction.

The one closest in the photo isn't and therefore is legal.

Dom

Less of an obstruction to emergency vehicles on the road.

Can still get a push chair up the side of the Aygo. Whats good for one is good for another and that jazz. :p
