had a mahoosive blow out at the managers today

"Global Warming" is meant to be warmer summers colder winters not just warmer summers. But of course we all know this is bullsh*t and its just the planet heating up and cooling down naturally as it historically has done when you look at past data.

Yes the planet's temperature fluctuates naturally. However, the 'global warming' mechanism of CO2 and their ilk is not some figment of the imagination. The details of precisely how CO2 acts as a heat sink has, to my knowledge, never been disproved or discredited. It is not good science to just discount a theory without having any solid evidence. Just the planet heating up and down historically does not disprove other theories.

Yes, but the converse is also true - you shouldn't just accept something even with solid evidence - how valid is the evidence?

TBH I reckon the inability to gather firm evidence is part of the problem - it just needs some body whose aim is non-profiteering (eg: HMG would make a good target) to just stick their foot in it and see what investing a reasonable sum of money would get you (eg: Drax power station generates ~ 4GW, which is the equivalent of 1300 good high power offshore HA-Wind Turbines @ 3MW a piece. Buying those things isnt 'really' that expensive, theres a site identified, all it needs is someone to build the bastard thing - bear in mind that oligarchs will lose interest pretty soon as it'll show up on their accounts to a huge detriment).

Theres no way you'de replace Drax in one foul swoop, but you could do a reasonable fractional amount of it as a feasibility study.

Some guy came in to work today and started complaining about the Ultimate Diesel pumps, I tried explaining to him that Yes there is a problem, we know about it and maintenance are on the chase. He flatly refused to listen so passed him over to my manager who repeated what I said, he still didnt listen and is gonna complain to head office.
