Ok... so it all started a few weeks ago pulling onto a round about...
dipped the clutch to change into 2nd... and the pedel refused to come back up! a few seconds, that felt like hours, later... it pops back up! after that, ever now and then it either stopped half way, refused to go down at all, or refused to come back up for a short time untill it decided to comply!
it felt physical.. so my first thought was it was caught on a mat or something. but nope. so i informed my dad and while i was yet to get out of bed ine morning, he took it appon himself to take the car to my local garage, ok he works on all of our cars and past cars, however hes not the most efficient! he once had my old seicento for 3 weeks for a problem that turned out to be a sensor that just needed a clean! and also my bravo needed an engine transplant after it came back after repairs from a slipped cambelt with a dodgy missfire!
so anyway.... firstly he changed the clutch cos apparently that looked to have alot of wear and was pretty shagged anyway.. so i got the keys back, and within 2 seconds of being in the car, about to hit meadowhall... not fixed. and he had apparently taken it out for a test drive! it had also developed a new problem! when the clutch was fully down... there was a very worrying rattle/rumble/grinding noise.
so then he replaced some shaft thing.. something to do with the thrust bearing and a bright spot or something... i dunno i wasnt listening, i was too angry!
so again... didnt work! now he thinks theres a flapper in the hydrolic system thats acting like a little valve and is stopping and starting fluid passing round at random.. so thats the next thing to be taken to bits! although she had a new slave cylinder before i got her.. so thats a bonus! lol
