Bloody multi story car parks. Never had a prang in one before. But I turned the wheel to early when coming out of space and scrape (n)

God know what will cost to sort, although not down to the metal I don't think (and hope). Off to body shop tomorrow :(

everytime someone prangs their car it will be called a Rolf.

bout £200 by past experience

well your lucky its there which is quite an easyish place to get to (y)
has it dented or just scraped?

A very slight dent to the left of the one on the left hand side, but the dent hasn't had paint removed. So not sure if it were there before

I don't think it's gone all the way down to the metal at all luckily. But will find out if it's rusted away in the morning as I've done a 26 mile drive in pooring rain after doing that.

Carl, that £200, was that when down to the metal? How big an area

ok gp repairs.

1st one ma clipped it in works car park. bent the metal in front of the drivers side rear wheel arch (by about an inch so quite hard) was filled in and painted etc inc at near as dammit £400

2nd one i clipped it coming out the drive. rear quarter panel scraped and dented down to metal. sanded down, smoothed over and painted inc vat near as dammit £400

3rd one clipped it coming out of work experience plled filler out from my mas repair and got green paint on the drivers sider rear quater panel and rear wheel arch and a small nick in the bumper, filler fully removed and damaged area sanded down smoothed over and painted inc vat near as damit £400

all of these have either been more severe or a larger surface area than yours so id say for safe bets it would be about £200 to maybe £300 at a push. wil involve sanding down an area, smoothing and painting or they might just be lazy and put a new panel on but that id expect would cost more.

Thanks Carl and Dave.

I was thinking between £60-£100 (but then again have never had to have anything like this done before).

But have been thinking about seeing if they'll do me a good price for doing it if I spend some more money and get a few other blemishes done that were on the car when I got it (slight minor scratch on boot and drivers door and one or two on the bonnet).

Will see what prices I get tomorrow.

depends on the bodyshop tbh. the one we use is round the corner and does work for the local jeep, bmw and mercedes dealerships amongst a few. so they do charge but cant fault the work or service. job is done quickly and well and you dont even get to look at your car till they are 100% satisfied and also get a warranty.

other one i got recommended though specialises in italian cars and does a lot of work on Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Maseratis etc (local dealerships) as well as bmws etc and classic cars. seen their work as well and is top notch dont know about prices though but can expect to pay a premium due to the clientell.

so its all about where you go really pricewise have a word and see who your friends and locals use etc and go from there then get a few quotes and if you can see some of their past work and decide.

My first attempt at rattle-can Hammerite didn't go too well on my front ARB brackets (went brilliantly on the rears and brake brackets. I hadn't roughed up the surface nearly enough and sprayed the layers far too thick. Right messy job cleaning the gungey under-cured paint off the metal. Got it clean, roughed up and degreased now though ready for a dry-ish day.
