Whats happened to some of the regular people

I am new to this site aswell, infact this is the first online site i have been a member of,so i dont think i am qaulifide to properly comment on this particuler thred, but i will put my tuppence worth in anyway.
What i will say , is this site has given me loads of info on lots of things, and i enjoy logging on and being part of it.
Now i know i may have offendid certain people on a certain thred, and to tell the truth after having pushed the send key, thought to myself you fool,it was not my intention to slag or offend people that gave me advice that they thought would help me//be benaficial to me,all i can say to that is, it was a very STRESSFULL week, but i should have thought more about what i was saying before sending, and i would like to take this oppertunity to appoligise to anyone i did offend .And me and Buzz are ok now aswell BIG SMILEY
@ Nige im sorry to hear you dont let your kids log on anymore, and after hearing that i will definatly be thinking about that when choosing my wording in future posts.
As i said this is the first site i have been a member off,but since becomming a member,i have checked others, and this is the one for me,i think people need to voice up more when there is a problem of any kind, the wrong, and the wright are easy to identify, but not so if nobady says anything.
@ Roberto glad to see you back , i think you nipped a lot of iffy threads in the budd before they got silly as you did today, and through nobodys fault , im not saying or suggesting anything about anyone, there was not mods to mod all the time on some of the silly ones that are still here for everybody to read.
BUT, not everybody is going to agree on diffrent matters, and diffrent people have diffrent ideas, younger and older, thats life,on this forum and off it.
I dont envy a mods job.
Just my tuppenc worth

i have to agree whole heartedly with Insy, Roberto, Dan Brown and Cambs Nige here im afraid

ive been here nearly 4 years and i have to say from my perspective the forum is becoming a little tedious and hard work. as much as i love my car and the forum and all of the very good mates i have made i see myself on here less and less through choice and also posting less. i invariably only post on things i can help with now and avoid the majority of OT posts and the all to often asked q's all together.

i will still float around in the back ground but wont be as much of a regular as before, and its been going that way for a fair while now

I too have gone the way of many of the older users.

Although I sold my Bravo almost 2 years ago, I would still log on every day, trying to help people who had similar problems to me when I owned my bravo, I was also interested in debates about remaps and VAG TD engines.

I just got to the point where I didnt even want to look at the posts anymore, they were always full of spam or questions that could have been better answered using either google or the search button.

I know there will always be one or two and maybe when I was a newbie I may have posted silly questions or OT posts, but I soon picked up where and when this was appropriate, mainly because Tom put me in my place (in a nice way).

This is the first time I have logged on in about 6 weeks, first post for over 2 months and I dont know what has been going on, and its a shame but I just dont feel there are enough good quality conversations/debates going on to warrant logging on on a regular basis.

I dont want to upset anyone or cause anymore upset, just giving reasons to my lack of postage - though I dont think anyone will have noticed but hey! :)

I'm still here too just though lol

I feel exactly the same as Roberto does. I first came on here when i bought my Bravo 3 n abit years ago and it has really changed over time.

I am not sayin if it is a good or bad thing as that is a difference in opinion.

For me its a bad thing with the changes.

Must say I'm in agreeance.
I've been on here three years or so now and I very rarely see any threads worth replying to and I'm sometimes reluctant to post a new thread because of the critisism I might get for doing something a certain way. Plus the fact that threads go off topic and quickly too.
Mind you, having been on here so long I can read a posted thread and I know exactly where it's going... it's shocking really!
The annoying thing is, is that there's no obvious solution to it all.
Just though I'd give my views ;) lol

I now have 5 forums that I am a regular contributor to, plus a life, a dog, a car and a partner that all need attention (not necessarily in that order), so time is at a premium.

Also, I was getting p*ssed at the "whose is fastest", "how do I get off this speeding charge" posts which seemed to be getting more prolific.

Whats happened to some of the regular people ?

This site obviously has its problems, especially when mods' don't enjoy their task.

I've only been in BOO for a couple of years, and now my eldest daughter has my Brava and I own an Accord I hardly feel part of BOO anymore.

BUT, I must say a lot of Bravo/a owners don't seem to realise how lucky they are. Fact is if you need advice on maintenance/repair, or you want to dog-up your car, or need some parts, BOO is just about unbeatable.
BOO has resources that put other makes to shame. Some of them seem under-used, the Search facility for instance.
A lot of mundane posts could be avoided by people using Search....trouble is no-one believes their problems to be mundane. And maybe they just want to appear on BOO.

Thing is BOO has the basics just about right. Wimmy & Co do a good job and the Event organisors are the glue that binds people together.
Any good Site gets its share of idiots and anon posts. Even some people of repute can get petty on occasion, but we all have bad days.

I reckon BOO proves its worth, otherwise there wouldn't be so many ex-Bravo/a drivers still logging on.

I do believe my first post was looking for leather seats for my brava… to which I believe smee said rocking horse **** or something similar…. Did it put me off? No, but some of the abuse that is thrown around now I would not return. Simple.

My motto is if you wouldn't say it to someone's face don't say it at all.

Sometimes this place is great and others I cant be bothered to log on. I don't own a fiat anymore but there is something that I keep coming back for, what I don't know? Maybe its how welcomed I felt after the carting meet, who knows? Take a look at this whole website not just the forum and I think we may remember what makes it great

My how things change - not lol! I still pop onto the site on a regular basis as I do actually still own a Bravo beleive it or not!
I remember the good old days when the Bravo was current and we started the Bravo/a Guide - we had many a bickering and loads of arguments (and yes I was to blame for a lot of them, especially with modding )
I just think that some of the old crew have maybe grown up a bit more and as such their attitudes have changed somewhat and been replaced by the same attitudes they used to have by the new and younger owners.
Wimmy and the Mods (God that sounds like a 70's throwback band) do a cracking job on here, but I have a suggestion
If you have a weekly Off Topic thread that gets locked on a Sunday and a new one created where you can all post all the ******** you want to, then this would leave the rest of the threads on topic. Then those who want to read the Off Topic stuff can do so if they want.
Just the thoughts of an old duffer and still Mr Chairman :)

PS - I agree with EVERYTHING to do with text speak on forums - drives me potty lol, now where's me pipe....
