20v, 16v or turbo?

I wouldn't mind getting a coupe but i don't want to break the bank every month. what is the cheapest to run? I would assume the 16v and 16v turbo as they are everywhere (engine wise).

What about insurance?

I would imagine that the 16V is the cheapest to run. Insurance should be slightly cheaper than the other models too.
Be careful with fuel consumption - the 16VT has worse consumption figures than the 20VT.
Your costs won't be particularly cheap with any model, so maybe you should bite the bullet and get a 20VT anyway (y)

The 16V is cheaper to insure than the 20V and servicing costs are less. The 16V may be slightly worse than the 20V on fuel though, I never really noticed that much difference. Driven hard they will both be thirsty.

the great north run would be cheaper

if you get a coupe you cant think figures, its a purchase you make with your heart not your head. i cant afford one so my heart doesnt get to make decisions, but if i could afford it- its gotta be worth it (y)

The thing that leans me to the 16 valve is that if something goes wrong with the engine it will be a lot cheaper to fix as even a small job on a 20V is difficult due to the lack of space. Apart from cambelts breaking the 16 Valve appears more reliable also. Against this the 16 valves are older and the one I owned had the begginings of structural rust (Above the rear subframe mounts and inner front wings).
