Iv got a 101 ideas in my head wat I want to do with my car....
So that's pretend you own my car 1998 900cc fiat sei and you could do any thing you want with it wat would it be 1 rule no engine swap to summit bigger lol but any thing else goes
reason I'm askin I want some more ideas or see if any of yours are similiar to mine.

Personally, I'd concentrate on the handling - springs, dampers, strutbraces and maybe some quality tyres on slightly bigger wheels. The engine's never going to be that tune-able, could maybe do some home made induction for a little more torque and driveability, but as has been said before it'll never be a quick car.

Also, in terms of aesthetic - keep it simple. No big kits or side skirts and the like as it'll just add extra weight and shout about performance you don't have. Maybe some colour coding could be done, some clear indicators and the like as well. Basically subtlety is the key I feel. At least that's what I'm doing with my tiny engined Stilo :)

agree with mr42 (y)

no point in an 899 engine swap, too much fabrication involved. the amount of time, money and effort required would be better spent on a sporting that has the basis for a bigger engine swap anyway.

so definitley, focus must be on handling, braking and weight saving :) id leave the strutbrace unless a cento specific one comes up really cheap, it wont make any noticeable difference on an 899 and is money better spent elsewhere imo.

£34 for a strut from demontweeks lol.....I want my car to be diff but not over the top...iv already payed some 1 to recover my seats and roof, basicly pin up girls on the seats and roof I seen it on another car and I really liked the idea not to tacky thoo...tempted to recolour the dash....I was gonna put an amp and sub in but tobe honest i'm startin to think it's pointless...out side I wanted to add sutle touches such as a small spoiler (lip style)

This is of course the other side of the coin - might be better to concentrate on just maintaining this car, saving your cash up for a year or two then going to something newer with more grunt?

Or if you really like the Sei, save your money for now until you can find a Sporting (or at least an SX with the 1108) in good condition and then just go nuts!

I used to own the 899 cinq :D . remeber fiat got good results with the 899 engine when they used to rally them :) .

- I ported the head, opend up the inlet hole on the rocker cover to 32mm.
- Punto 60 tb gits on it (32mm instead of 30mm)
- K&n induction, remeber this is different to the sporting one, it connects to the standard brether hose
- Novitec Struct brace, it made a great difference.
- 10 mm spacers up front
- I did the slamm the car stupidly low (70/50mm sporting springs)

Oh and don't bother with 14" wheels, i found that the extra weight made the negine really sluggish!!!! Just stick with sporting wheels if u can get a set!

To be honest the 899 are one solid trouble free engine! With little care it can last forever!!
