I would say so - you can claim the extra 2p via the Revenue, but you only get relief at your rate of tax - i.e. claim 1000 miles and only receive £380 and not £400. Tax claim will be £20 @ 22% = £4.40.
Yeah even if your paye you only get taxed if its more than 45p a mile I believe.
Nope your subtinance allowence won't get taxed except for VAT of course , and it would be £25 for a day excluding softdrinks id imagine.
When I used to travel in my last firm I used to get £25 a day just for food and £5 for soft drinks. So I quite often got them to put the booze on the food tab .
