Hi guys,
I know this will have been asked lots of times but what wheel and tyre size are best to go for on the classic shape panda?
Maybe it will get lowered aswell but don't want any issues after if we do.
I have seen various styles, old and new maybe going with refurbed old fiat alloys?
Many thanks for any help.
Mark.

If you are going for older fiat alloys the wheels I would suggest are from the fiat 127 palio edition. They are nice, have a google :)

Bit narrow though, think they're only 4.5". Any cinq/sei rims will do it, or most early Punto or Uno rims. Wider steels from a 500 or Punto are a nice understated look too. Have a look round the members motors section, plenty of ideas there.

Comes down to personal taste I guess, I ran mine with small spacers on the front.

Nobody's mentioned tyres actually. 165/65/13 (assuming you stick with a 13" rim) is what I run with. You can go up to a 175 or 185 width but a) you have to be even more careful with offset on your rims and b) availability on suitable profile tyres gets much more limited.

The best are the steelies with wheel trims...
Sigh..so predictable. Next we'll be getting MEP reminding us the insurer will need to be informed

Cheers guys.
The other half has just got her Lil panda.
Another spin on the wheel/tyre question, if we lower it by the 40mm springs and stick with 13" wheels what is the best size tyre to go with? (no rubbing)
Thanks
Mark.

165/65/13 I reckon (as above) Shopping around it's a lot more common tyre size than if you try to go wider so price and choice is better. Does depend on your choice of rim too though.

With a 13" rim should get away with 70 profile, I don't get any rubbing and mine are all 155/70/13, might give a little more comfort too.

I'm also thinking about a set of x1/9 alloys to go on my 1988 Panda, do you need longer wheel bolts and would the 155/65 x 13 tyres currently on my steels fit OK or is it best to go wider. Mine isn't lowered...

Yes, yes, and maybe. I seem to recall X1/9 wheels are a pretty low offset so sit relatively far out in the arches. The 155 tyres would give you more chance of keeping the tread nice and legally tucked under the arch but the wheels will take slightly wider.

OK, thanks very much for that info, will check the offset...
