That's brilliant! Thank you for your help. Both computers now finding the printer thank you.
Changing to DHCP fixed it. The settings should be fixed now even after the computers are turned off etc. shouldn't they?

Yep, the printers IP settings are completely independent of the machines so if I turned up with my laptop I'd be able to use the printer too.
