Technical What type are they?

Looking into replacing my front shocks because one of them has come over all unnecessary and shoot it's load all over the deck!
My question is, what did Fiat fit the car with at the factory? It's a 1996 1.6 16v SX.

They're fitted with Fiat OEM shocks from the factory. Nothing special.

all front shocks are gas as standard. (the rears are hydraulic or gas depending on year and model)

on the front there are only 2 types used. the 1.2 1.4 1.6 1.8 petrols all use one type. the diesels and hgt use a different (stiffer) type.

always fit new shock in pairs

Thanks Hellcat, unfortunate that being "nothing special" "oem" that they cost so much....£35 +p&p each. Any other recommended suppliers who may be a little cheaper or is shop4parts the cheapest?
