Hi guys,

I'm seriously considering getting a tattoo on my upper right arm. Not totally sure what to get so I thought I would open it up to the public!!! My favourite public that is(y) Me and a mate from work are going to go together (braver in numbers!) at some point after Easter.

Pick one of my choices and if you have any suggestions too, let me know.

Cheers guys!!!:D

I've always wanted a tattoo and I feel I am ready for one ( got enough guts up now i think) and I do like the look of them. My tendancies are toward tribal patter, something like yours or maybe the scorpion. the idea just sprund in to my head. tis really neat. i wouldn't get it just cuz its abarth. i just love the stylistic properties of the logo and feel that this may transpire well as a tattoo too. I'm open to ideas too.

Quite like the one on your Avatar Ben. Is it yours? What does it mean?

Ah, i see, the old flattery trick eh? :) lol...

Mine is Japanese for "Forever" and means a lot to me. I have always loved the Kanji style of writing, and was going to get "Monkey" (as in year of) - however when I was out there (Japan, i refused to get it in England, it had to be authentic ;)), I fell in love with the place, so switched it so I would always remember my time there :)

Only reason I say "you choose" and whatnot, is you have to live with it, forever (oh the irony... haha)

Here you go, step by step photos... seems it took about 37 minutes.... hahaha..... http://www.teamtokyo.com/gallery.asp?trip_id=2&gallery_id=63

looks really professional. really nice link to your tattoo for why you got it.

I like the monkey idea. I was born in the year of the rat so I think I might give that idea a miss. hehe. Japan is one of the places I want to visit before I die, including Alaska and Nepal too.

EDIT: Right, who voted the kitchen appliance??? lol. Tstaboy??? hehe

I'm with Ben on this one, if you decide on it now, best to think about it for a good while before goign in for anything. That's why I haven't got any - my piercings I can take out should I get sick of them, anything more permanant I am not sure I would want in 50 years time when I'm wrinkly.

don't worry guys, it is no spur of the moment thing. its been in progress in my head for years and I have thought of it all. thanks anyway.

in my head I have it kinda narrowed down to three of those options above which I would be happy with and they seem to be doing best at the moment. If anybody has novel ideas, i'm up to consider them.

hang on is kitchen appliance an option, if so go for the ladel!!

I got one last week, and mine means alot to me...it represents someone really important to me. and i think thats the most important thing, that it represents something from your past or present or something you hope to achieve in the future, not just something that looks cool!!! (thought that is a factor as well!)

You dont want it on the upper arm...Ull get labelled as a hooligan etc....unless thats what u want!! :D

Why dont you have the sei....a constant reminder!1 :D

However, saying all that, if you've got the arm for it, tribal all down the upper arm (starting at the shoulder) looks awesome ... would love that on my left, however I just ain't got the muscle (or indeed body fat) for it...

oh your not fat enough...what a tough life you lead....i would LOVE that problem!!!!!

but yeah agree the trible writting down the arm is great! (y)

Have to be careful with full arm tattoos, alot of empoyers are prejudiced against tattood people, thus have to wear long sleeved shirts to work all summer (n)

I would have had my tribal one all down my arm, but as it stood i had to have it stop at the bottom of my tricep - i got a tribal dragon.

Tribal armbands look good (hurt lots on the inside tho  ;))

Just gotta save up for my next 2 or 3 then that'll be it.

On a different note, if you were going to get one, try drawing your own designs - they're a bit more special and unique then. Some tattooists can be annoying when you want your own designs - but if they kick up a fuss then go somewhere else (they're supposed to be artists afterall)
