What to do with my tax situation?

Ok, i have a big problem, the car's tax expires on the 30th of this month, so i have 1 week today to get it taxed.

I have the m.o.t certificate, my insurance certificate, but no v5. its been held up, i got a letter on monday saying i need the engine number verified before the send my the v5. even if i get that done i wont have the v5 in time.

The new keepers slip has gone walkabout (i think its been thrown out, not by me i may add!), so i have no dvla certificate at all. It turns out the previous owner has recieved the tax renewal reminder, but even if he finds that and sends it on, i wont have it in time :bang:

i cant tax online as i have no v5 refference numbers , even though they say the car is now registered to me in the letter i got requesting engine verification.

so how can i get it taxed?, any ideas would be great, im totaly stumped :bang:

You'll just have to wait! Sounds to me like the old keeper never sent off the V5 or if they did, it didn't make it to swansea!

They did send the v5 off, i got a letter from the dvla saying the new keeper has been recorded, and the new v5 will follow when i get engine number verification, i only got that a couple of days ago so it hasnt been to a garage yet to be inspected, by the time they get the letter and i get the v5, the tax will be long out anyway

I'll give the DVLA a phone tomorrow and try and get it sorted (without paying £25 for a new v5!) worst comes to it, i'll need to go and rent a lockup and sorn it until the v5 comes , not an option really, im needing the transport right now!
