Insurance companies are up there with Estate agents...............nobody likes them.

So does that mean that cos I've respraying a few interior items and the multi logo, that my insurance could be void?

one of my previous cars was a Range Rover Classic with a full wrap around bull bar on the front combined the the very solid front of the thick pressed and folded edge steel bonnet steel bumpers all bolted to a ladder frame chassis, a bonnet ornament would have been the least of a pedestrians worries
that said if i'd hit the Cherokee it wouldn't have come off too well

yeah most minor items are £5 or £10 a pop mods £50 upwards .Didnt realise there were so many . thats why the insurance is so high another tip when ringing around,0800 numbers normally free on bt line if they transfer you around it could be a premium line . What i normally say need to go to the toilet ring me back in 30mins ,on my last renewal i had the guy from india on the phone for 50 mins while i scrutinised the policy.At least im getting something for my money.

that why you always ring the 0800 number then play dumb to be transferred to the department that uses the 0845 number

Only if it's natural pine scent. Any other fragrance is allowed
From what I gather from my Mrs (who works for a big insurer) in a theft claim, minor cosmetic mods probably won't prevent them paying out, but the cost of the mods themselves won't be covered. Major cosmetic mods could be a different matter.
In an accident claim, if the accident can be shown to have been caused (or contributed to) by the mod, you're probably buggered. If not, you should be ok but again the mods themselves won't be covered.
That's just the attitude of one insurer though - the small print is always worth checking. I've been with Swiftcover for the last few years and they actually have a list of mods that you don't need to declare to them, including alloy wheels and towbars.

Define minor and major though.
Minor = alloys
Major = 1 of those kits to turn your MR2 into an F360
But yet thats all interpritation.
IMO None manufacture recomended alloys are major. Only safe thing that can be done is for people to check themselves, and have a note poped against their policies
