It may be ugly, overpriced and use Fiat diesels, sadly though it will outsell the GP many times over in the UK. It just doesn't make sense...

To be fair they do offer a years free insurance it seems all the time, rather than be a limited edition offer, maybe fiat should offer free insurance for a year ages 19-80 and they may nick some sales. That must appeal especially to a younger driver

my local fiat dealer has free insurance on the gp

Where was that they were doing Free insurance on the GP? I aim order mine in the next month and being only 19 free insurance would be brilliant. Any idea if it will be nationwide?

I wonder why they didn't continue with the ligh level rear lights... They copied the Punto int he Corsa C, but then put them back low. I guess that's because the C's can be hard to see, but it means that the boot is harder to access with wide loads - got to get it over the lights as opposed to the GP where you just lift straight in.

I'm waiting to see pics of the 5dr (we need more practical cars), but I can't see myself considering one, where as a GP is top of my list. Probably poor Vauxhall gadgets like no lumbar, trip computer or city more power steering.

What we have here is the best car Vauxhall/Opel could have designed for Fiat sales!

It's sad, they'll sell millions upon millions of these to unquestioning people who buy a Vauxhall 'cos you know where it's come from'. Ask these people where it was made and they'll tell you Britain.

Tell them it came from Spain and they'll find a whole host of other excuses for their lack of imagination and forethought. What gets me angry is the fact that Auto Express already seem to love this car, despite it being based on the Punto which they turned their noses up at.

People who really love cars don't buy Vauxhalls. How could you come to terms with the phrase 'I drive a Vauxhall'? Can you think of anything more boring? It's enough to make you want to slit your wrists. It doesn't matter if that Vauxhall is a Monaro or a VX220.... it's still a Vauxhall.

When I think of dull, grey things which are made to a price for people who don't know any better, I always think of a Vauxhall.

Here's a challenge - can anyone think of a word that conjures up more dismal associations than.... Vauxhall.

The closest I can think of so far are 'grey', 'Sunday' and 'Middlesex'.

Maybe they should rebadge them Opels, finally? Maybe that would help?

No, maybe not.

Its amazing a thread about a rival car has more attention than them about the GP !

Ah the new corsa VXR will have 200bhp tho!

Well lets hope gives Fiat a kick up the arse to get the Abarth version of the GP out. Then we'll see... ;)

Oh, and mock-ups look a lot better than the final car will turn out. Have you seen the promo pics of the Civic Type-R? You think it will really turn out like that with chrome 20" wheels and slammed to the deck? Lets wait and see what the final VXR turns out like first...

Link? And I seriously doubt it's like the pictures I've seen of it. Those wheels looked like something out of pimp my ride, and it looked low enough to bottom out over speed bumps
