full mot just passed recerntly, with new cambelt

when driving, it does jerk on gears.

aat very very few times, i have seen the engine management light flash then go off.

its defo soemthing to do with how it is jerking on gears, if i move off one, its no longer smooth, its very slow then automatcally pushes speed?

any ideas.

Only a diag check can tell you for sure, and please what do you mean by “jerk on gears“, during driving or just when you switch gears.

during driving, if i move off first, it sort of pulls in normal motion after liek 2 seconds, its not driving smoothly.

a diag check showed nothing at all.

Measure the voltage on the battery poles when the engine is off and when its on.
Also where the emission tests on any borders, I mean high or low but still to pass MOT ?

Plugs changed when and what engine is it ?

After cambelt change you say...... i had mine done not long ago and the car would hop skip and fookin jump in the gears ended up being the cambelt out by a couple of teeth on the bottom pulley worth checking with garage a had to take mine back and they had to do it again no charge.........

looks lik the appintment has been booekd in for next monday

quick questions i think there is more to this then recheckign the cambelt

drove today with windows down so i can in full the progress with the car.

now moving first is fine, then al of a sudden is pushign up a level in speed so somethign is causing it to not drive smoothly.

the same in second gear, its trying to go smoothly fast but it cannot

possibly the exhaust, as i heard a few 'pops' from the back..sounded defo like the exhaust?

weird thign is i had a full exhaust change last year!!

any ideas?

the popping could be a mis fire i doubt anything to do with the exhaust... you say the garage are going to have a look i would stand there and watch them... i did for over an hour whilst he checked mine... im sticking with the cambelt... your symptoms are the same..

thanks for replying

so the mis-fire is still related to the cambelt you think..

ey upp

coudl the coils be an issue as well?? im sure they are related to the mis firing rather then the cambelt.
