Technical what is the mini radiator under passenger side

Hi Guys, can anyone tell me what the mini radiator is that is situated roughly below the passenger side door (UK) version 2.2 eleganza, it has a plastic surround that is a vent/air scoop device thingy. i need to replace the plastic air scoop as ours was damaged driving onto southport beach.

anyhelp would be appreciated, i know if i ask the fiat garage they will just stare at me blankley thinking i'm talking a different language !!

is it an auto? autoboxes have oil coolers

Assuming it's a turbo-diesel, would it not be an intercooler?

I think you will find it is the auxillary heater, it has an air intake on the side. Do you have one fitted? High pitched whine in cold weather and a smell of burned diesel? if so that is what it is, see under Eberspacer etc. Hope this helps, Tony

its an automatic and i think its a 2.0 16v jtd, i can get a photo of it it that helps.

I did go to the fiat garage and they didnt have a clue, theyve taken my mobile number and said they'd ring me if they find out what it is and were to get the replacement part.

if its same engine as scudo 2.0 jtd its an intercooler as suggested by other quote this keeps temparature off your diesel
