Is there any difference between a Fiat 500 abarth engine and Fiat 500x 1.4 multiair engine as they look basically the same

Here in the UK the Fiat 500 was using the T-Jet engine which was a 16v over head twin cam with a turbo. I don't know if that has changed. in the US they use the multiair engine in the Abarth 500.

The Multiair engine is a 16 valve engine but half of the valves are controlled by a infinitely variable valve set up which uses a charge of oil to open the valves when and for as long as the ECU.

the underpinnings of both engines are technically the same but its the cylinder head and the way the valves are actuated that differs
