what is rolling road?

hi,

i basicly know that a rolling road tests power of your engine, what does it test? how much is it? iv never been told

A rolling road does much more than that, it allows you to calibrate your engine "on the fly" so you can set up ECUs, Turbo's, Timing etc while the car is in action, rather than have to, for example, drive for a while, then stop, advance timing, drive a bit more etc...

rolling road tune ups can be pricey. i try to go about every 6 months to keep mine in shape. £100 a shot tho!

will need to get the cinq turbo on the rollers once its all fixed

yeah, thats fuelling adjusted, boost set, engine health check and a power run with graph. its normally on there for about 2 hours

That would depend on how much power it's making, engine displacement is no means to judge hp output. My turbo panda only got laughs until after the pull when they noticed the graph .

Most dynos don't measure below a certain power, my engine dyno is not reliable below 30hp or 250rpm because the rollers would be too heavy and above 600hp or 12000rpm because the rollers are too light .
