Ok, I have noticed that huge sports cars cooperations are owned by simple and normal car companies.
I mean Audi owns lamborghini, even though some people might expect BMW or Mercedes-Benz to own such a company. Or Ferrari to own fiat.
The truth is, Fiat owns Ferrari. Don't get me wrong here, I love fiat. In fact I consider my Bravo the best car in the world and she's my baby.
But, dont you think its a bit odd that companies that produce less cheap cars own multimillionaire sports car companies??

More normal cars sold as opposed to sports cars so the companies have more cash to buy out the sports car makers when they hit bad times due to recession and stuff.

Also it allows then to use their technology in a more simplified version in our humdrum cars.

I don't find it odd. As a major car manufacturer, you buy a low-volume sports car company for peanuts (compared to your main car sales) and hope that people with think "ah fiat own ferrari so I really own a little ferrari" when they buy a base spec panda. Also as Liam says they reckon all that high performance know-how technology filters through to the cooking models (yeah right!)

Seen this before?:D

I think you mean Panda Sporting there Matt... ;)
I don't think it's odd. It's just market diversity. If the expensive-car manufacturers were self-owned, they'd go bust as the market's so competitive. So they get bought.
