£6000 in 26months.... of with £3k for the car about maybe £500 max on parts... the rest are just silly bits!!!


But thats ok.. cos mummy and daddy must have bought me all them!!

I dread to think what i've spent
At the moment it's in the workshop having the old engine removed and a new one put in as i dropped the con rods through the sump and took out a huge chunck of the crank case too.
Engine alone was just short of a grand.

the more ive been thinking about how much ive spent on Patch the more depressing it gets considering she isnt that modified, ok so a fair amount has been done, but alot of what i wanted to do was put on hold etc... damn gear boxes and me being waaay to enthusiastic

Spoke to the garage this morning and it just needs a new balance belt but need to wait for it coming from Italy.
When he got the old engine out and took the head off it's missing 1 piston completly lol

Rab, im really sorry to hear that mate, not nice at all especially since youve got her because of the Brava's demise

Ash G and i have just swapped engines from my crashed hgt to a marea we got free as it lost its oil, one of the conrods went on that and put a hole in the front of the block a little bigger than a golf ball... not a nice job to swap, you deffinately need to be feeling strong even with an engine lift!!

Dan... if id have spent 3k and my car was as clean as yours id be well happy, but Patchs and mine tendancy for munching gearboxes ahve prevented me from doing what i wanted to with her...

Alpine HU: £190
New facia for above: £5/10
New security cage for above: £5
About to order new rear speakers: £50

First off, there was clear side indicator lenses, (did'nt like the standard smoked ones much)- £8

Then multi-LED bulb for the big black hole that is the boot, (standard one too puny)- £5

S/hand Grundig CD changer and upgrade head unit to go with it and BUS control lead - £38,£40,£11

New badges all round to replace faded old ones -£18 in all

S/hand, but perfect set of Alessio alloys and good tyres, (unplanned, as my alloys were fine, but as cheap as buying new tyres that I did need!) - £200

Bits of scratched/split plastic trim replaced, (swapped-over from a mate's missus old Brava, the day before it got traded-in) - FREE!!!

- mind you, that's still £320 total, just for silly little bits and pieces....
