I'm having a problem with my Cinq.
The engine is broken so I need a new one.
Now originaly I had a turbo conversion of a 1.1.
Now I want at least a 1.2 but the changes that have to be made are expencive.
So I am looking for an engine that I can drop in to the original engine mount but with some more horepower.
At least 110/120 without any modifications to the engine.
I would like to place one that does'nt have a turbo so it will be more realiable.

I know the 1.1 and 1.2 fit without any problem but are there more options.
Without ***up the handling of the car.

Lol ill end this thread now, what you are after doesnt exist.

forget it if you want that power and not to do any work

You may as well buy a car with that amount of HP in it and scrap your cinq

I'm lookin for an engine that will fit the original engine mounts.
I don't want to cut into the chassis to make it fit.
Don't like to weaken it.

Things like cams shafts or other cilinderheads to gain performance is no problem at all.

If the problem is cost then; they are not a cheap swap when you factor in the extra parts you need such as FPR, new fuel pump, ECU Remap, New exhaust, Supersprint manifold........... In the UK your looking at £1500 minimum if you do everything yoursself. If you have the turbo parts why not just fit the parts to a 1242 and run a stable boost. Has to be alot more cost effective. I did.
One last question.
I can get my hands on a Punto 75 Elx engine.
This is a MPI one.
So I want to take the whole engine and rop it in the cinq.
Also I will take the ECU and put it in the Cinq.

Now the loom in the engine bay is connected to the rest of the car with a big plug.
To the looms of the 1.1 engine and 1.2 engine have the same layout?
In others word can I just plug them together without any modifications.

Also I will take the fuel pump of the punto so the fuel will be under enough presure.

Also, if I have the loom of the punto.

And I have the wirescheme of the cinq and punto.
I can modify the cables at the plug so each wire connects to to right one of the cinq.

This way I can use the punto's ecu right?

as long as you either virginise the punto ECU, or have the keys and matching code box from the punto, yes you can use the punto ECU.

Ok so the large plug is identical to the loom on the cinq?

The good news is that the engine is standing still since 6 weeks and its still in the car.
When I takeout the fuel pump and the ECU it will deliver the fuel at the right pressure I suppose?

I'm sorry if I'm a pain is the ass with all the questions.
Just trying to make it clear for myself.

i've no idea if the plugs are the same, by 'use the punto ecu' i mean re-wire it to use the punto loom / bits of the cinq loom that you need.

Will that be the 1.4 from a uno tipo or a more recent car?

This sounds interesting to me, if its the 1.4 from a uno, i could get 1 with a turbo perhaps?

much more recent, we're talking FIRE derived engines - not that heavy old lump. 1368cc, not 1372cc.

oi mate, i have a question..i have 1.4 turbo from punto gt back in my garage,so i was wondering, could i fit it in my cinque??':bang:
