General What engine?

I have a 2003 2.0JTD 1300 ducato campervan.
Wiki says that the previous van had a 2.0 jtd 100hp motor, the improved face lift version only 84hp, why is this?
My V5 has no engine number identified, unobtainable, i gues it's hidden by gubbins.As most motorhome owners, i would like a little more grunt, but the correct engine must be identified first, before powerchip is supplied.

Hi,

I have the Peugeot version with the same engine, in fact when the chipping was done the software the guy used actually recognized the engine as Fiat. It is 84BHP and I can recommend chipping. My chipping was done by http://www.more-bhp.com/ducato.html, he came to the house allowed me to test drive to make sure I was happy before parting with any cash.

Top guy and I have no connections with him apart from having the chipping done. The van pulls much better, it was a dream to drive last year in the wilds of Scotland.

I think this is a far better route than having one of the add on boxes, i have heard problems with some on other forums.

I would actually recomend a re-map! (See Sig below) I'm sure the Camper would get a benefit from those figures!
