Normally, turn the key on, the indicator light of battery will be on, start the engine, the light will go out

However, this is not always ture in my little UNO-- Sometimes, the light dose not light when I turn the key on.

Does anyone know what this mean?

Maybe a false contact of the lamp inside the panel!?

Do I turn fast enough!?

most likely a dodgy bulb as enzo said but if not it could be an alternater fault.have a look at the bulb ASAP as it is part of the charging circuit and if it is faulty then the battery wont be charging

I had the exact same problem. If the light dose not light when you turn the key on the alternator will not charge! A small current (the present of it is shown by the light) is necessary for the alternator to begin charging!

Check that the thin wire (grey/black?) between the panel and the alternator is ok. Mine were broken just were it is attached to the alternator, which were hard to see. Sometimes there was a connection sometimes not, after a couple of months my battery was flat. I was recommended to change the alternator when it was the grey/black wire all the time. Good luck!

DO NOT REPLACE THE ALTERNATOR!
