what does the fiat key code do

Hello I'm rumourz can anyone tell me how the fiat key code works in a fiat car because I'm not sure whether I need an alarm or not. This is my first ever actual car so I don't really understand what the key code does and if I should get an thatcham aswell

it means no one without a key can start the car, it dont stop them breaking into it to steal stuff though

Right so not hot wireable? ok so shall I get a alarm or a steering lock for added security

depends where you live and park, if its high risk an alarm is a good idea
