just wondering really as i`ve got my hands on Turtle Wax Ice Wax, i`ve only used it on 3 panels so far with the intent of finishing the job at weekend, but its good on the black plastic and it doesn`t leave a white residue, it can even be used in the sun!
i stopped using MER a long while ago as it takes ages polishing and getting the polish off the black plastic and window rubbers, used to believe in the stuff but now its too much messing about with

that ice stuff is ok on the plastic, on anything else its just crap, it leaves a horable greese on everything

autogleam super resin, used it on all my cars, especially blacks and its always done a good job

I'm a megs man myself.

I use the 3 step that megs do, paint cleaner, polish then wax.

My car is metallic atlantico blue and it looks the part when I spend a good bit of time on it using the megs stuff.

Autoglym super resin polish is good too, used it a couple of times.

full on detailing...

wash with snow foam...then with a decent soap and water...i use autoglym bodywork conditioner stuff...

then clay the car to get rid of the contamination on the paint. then a super resin polish, autoglym is very good.

then a high gloss sealer, again autoglym do a good one.

and then ur done...ur car will shine!!!

If they didnt want it stripping they shouldnt have used nuts and bolts :)

Where do you buy the clay kit from shaun?? Never done it before but I hear it's good for getting wheels super clean.
I took my wheels off a few weeks ago, cleaned, paint cleaner, polish and supaguarded them but still not happy with the result as there are some tiny black dots still visable close up.

It all depends upon two things -

1. How much time you've got and

2. How much money you've got to spend.

The "satndard" orcedure is to

1. Wash the car with shampoo but do not use a sponge, use a lambswol mit and the two bucket method will keep swirling down. (Citrus tends to be preferred by most as a shampoo);

2. Rinse.

3. Clay Bar to remove bonded particles. Any clay can be used (the milder the better) and a quick detailer can be used as the lubricant, so can a mild soapy water. Meguiars to a Quick Clay kit;

4. Buff with soft microfibre

5. Polish. There are numerous available and Autoglym is a decent starting point but the fillers are easilly removed if using a Glaze or Sealant. Some suggestions:

6. Sealant - often missed but a decent stage. Again, personal preference but here's a few to be going on with;

7. The biggie......wax.

Your choice, this one is very durable and highly recommended;

Rtaher than repeat the performance, just use a quick detailing spray nect wash time;

Just as a guide, use foam applicator pads for application and microbibres for removal.

Clay Bar can be used on alloys and glass but DO NOT put it near your paintwork afterwards.

Where do you draw the line with cleaning?

most motor factors do them now or u could try website such as detailed obsessions or simular. search google.
