What do you do for backups?

I'd love to do online backups, but my internet connection just isn't fast enough. Documents are OK, but photos and videos no chance.

For that reason, I never delete photos from my camera / video camera even once they've been copied to the PC.

Then, every so often, I'll just run a full backup of my laptop to an external drive (which is kept in a fireproof safe )

I was also thinking to get a RAID NAS box, but, they don't support EFS, so all my data would be on there unencrypted, which is no good.

I'm sure there's one out there that does Just need to spend enough £'s!

I'm not quite understanding these - for example - the 221 (http://www.qnap.com/en/index.php?lang=en&sn=822&c=351&sc=514&t=523&n=18375&g=2)

In specs lists:

File System

Internal Hard Drive: EXT3, EXT4
External Hard Drive: EXT3, EXT4, NTFS, FAT32, HFS+

What does that mean, USB support is NTFS but network connected just EXT?

Daily Windows backups of pictures and and documents.
Daily encrypted backups to Amazon S3 of my most important stuff (about 9GB worth) using Cloudberry.
Monthly system drive images to another internal drive using Acronis True Image 2012.
Quarterly I copy the images off to an encrypted USB drive.

Came in handy cos my SSD system drive failed on Monday night! Replacement shipped out and arrived yesterday. Only took 2 hours of restoring to be fully back up and running
