What do these mean ?

Hi Folks

yet more questions !

I am looking through the receipts of the Fiat I bought recently and on one receipt for £378.50 there is the following items but I dont know what they are.

I am trying to decide if I need a service and if so what one I need.

It had a new oil filter and a oil change along with a new Cat. Converter and then these:

VOS4 LAMBDA SENSOR £.57.65
VOS418 LAMBER SENSOR LEAD £20

Can anyone tell me what these are ? It was for MOT and failed due to misfire, then this work was carried out and it passed ( just in November gone )



Car is 1999 Fiat Brava HSX 1.6

Also how much is a resonable price for a full service, the car has 58,000 miles but I cant find a receipt for a 48,000 service so am thinking it missed this so am considering getting it done ? I got a new power steering pump and brake pads / discs since getting the car.

I just want to make sure I look after the car so it keeps running smoothly for me.

The lambda sensor is screwed into the exhaust, in the engine bay. it measures oxygen in the exhaust fumes and sends a signal back to the ECU so that it can alter the fueling etc. If your lambda fails, your car can fail its emissions test. it looks like thats why it was done.

If in doubt about your cars service history, and you dont mind spending money on it, get a full inspection service done. its the most expensive type though and can cost 150ish. Also, has your cambelt been changed? if not its overdue to be done. and you should have that included at your next service. on a 1.6 brava it'll cost another 150ish.

If the above receipt you describe is for a combined service/mot, it doesn't mention spark plugs, or air filter etc, which means your next service SHOULD be a major service.
