This may sound rather odd but I just walked to the garage around the corner from my work and on the way back I was crossing the road and I just blacked out/collapsed in the middle of the road :(
was really strange as the next thing I know is I'm laying on my back looking at the sky and wondering how I got there :s
I have cut my elbow and arm and have a piece of tarmac in it (ouch!) but thats not what I'm bothered about.
Do you think that I should perhaps go to A+E or the doctors or should I just put it down to being overly stressed out at work today and that I must of got a bit light headed all of a sudden?
sorry for the strange post this late on on a friday afternoon but I'm kind of concerned thats all.

my friend did that, turns out she epeleptic and can't drive, if you feel ok make sure you tell peopel it happened and watch for it again, but bear in mind if you go to the docs, your insurance could become null and void and if anything happened in your car it could be nasty

Hi,

IMHO I could only advise going to see your GP, he will be able to give you a more informed decision.

A similar thing happened to a couple of friends of mine, one of them was sent to hospital for some checks, got a clean bill of health and hasn't had any problems since. The other found out that he was diabetic and that if he hadn't gone to the doc's when he did could have gone blind or died.

I'd agree, go and see someone, whether it's a GP or A&E, first aid training teaches that if someone has lost conciousness they must get medical treatment... do you know how long you were out ? and if you hit your head at all ?

I didn't hit my head and if I was out it will have been for less than 5 secs.
just cut my arm and my arse :(

Any history of epilepsy in the family?. Did you feel o.k. prior to blacking out, (i.e. dizzy, weak).

I've felt really light headed before but never fainted and dropped to the floor
I'd go see the doctors mate, deifinately

Don't mess about with blackouts Dan. Get to the Doc.

And most importantly don't worry about it. It may just be that the stress combined with low blood sugar made you faint. Simple blood test will tell.

Had you eaten at all? Lots of late nights?

Main thing is that you are OK and let's face it, you (like me) could do with cutting a bit off your ass. ;)

Let us know how you get on chap. :)

Sounds most likely to be diabetes or just one of them things, i'd suggest probably a doctor would be the best person to say for sure.
