General What did you do with your Panda today?

Took the car and my nephews to the Viva Zeelanda 2018 in Hulst.
Didn't go for the tour though as it was my birthday and had lots to do that day.
But it was a nice meet with great weather. My nephews hoped for more Ferrari's and Lamborghini's though.
There where some nice cars at the meeting and several Panda's. Only one Panda 312 though.

Had to do a fast trip from Cambridge to the wilds of Suffolk, so ended up ragging the Wee Yellow Beastie something rotten. Emerged with flying colours (roundabouts can be fun if you keep your foot down and aim for the apex) but I haven't had the nerve to check the fuel consumption on the trip computer. :(

Yep, me to, you never know if the end result is what you expect. ;)
I still wonder, will i like it, or should i have choose black. :D

Yeah you don't know untill the wheels are actualy mounted.
You just have to commit to it and don't worry what other people think or say.
I had plenty of reactions on my pink wheels and allthough they are mixed there are plenty of positive ones among them. Of course I like it when someone says something positive about it but at the end of the day I only care about what I think of my car and how much fun I have with it.
That's why I like Japanese car culture and also the American one. Lot's of different waves and styles ranging from led and neon lit Lamborghini's in Japan to Camaro's on 32 inch wheels and everything in between. I'm not saying that I like all the styles but I do like that the people do like to go for some pretty unique and out there stuff without giving a crap what someone else thinks about it.
At the Viva Zeelanda meet there where also a lot of different cars from classics to bagged and stanced cars and I still think my little Panda looked pretty nice among them:cool:

I have to agree based on the pictures. :D

I did this. But they are so weak. Bad choice from eBay at 2.99$. [emoji23]

Probably <5mpg. What the hell. More snow please.

Hi.
Well not what I did with my Panda today but what I will be doing with my Panda between Thursday & Saturday.
Anne and myself have been invited to the RAF Museum in Montrose to a posh frocks do (No way am I wearing a Frock ) It is to celebrate romance in WW1 mostly due to pilots from the US air-force late in the first world war marrying girls from Montrose and the surrounding area.

Montrose Air station was one of the first military air fields started by the RFC (Royal flying corps) in 1913.

The reason for the invite was my Grandfathers (HCS Bullock MBE) work there and as he was initially an aircraft mechanic only to be promoted many times to eventually a Major. Although he never got the distinction of what he did on fuel delivery and storage on the early BE2 at the time, more recent research has revealed the truth.

I could go on about him but it would take pages and hours.

This will be the second time I've been to the museum and I'd recommend it to anyone to take a visit. http://rafmontrose.org.uk/

We will be staying at the Links hotel on Thursday and Friday night and will head home via a friend in Leven Fife on Saturday, whereupon I'll be celebrating my 64th birthday.

Looking forward to giving the Lounge a decent run for a change :D

PS.
My Grandfather was quite a man, see some of these references.

Just a few things to look at.

Hi.
Had a great weekend, weather spot on and the function at the museum a superb experience.
Panda did 300 miles as I did a detour to a friend on the way home. The display shows 53.8 mpg but the car was fully loaded and had a 1954 Philips 1446 405 line TV on the back seat while heading home.
I've added a couple of pics.

Sounds like a memorable weekend. Best bib and tucker, too!

Your grandfather sounds like a helluva chap - you must be very proud of him.

One of my dearest possessions, which hangs on the wall by my desk, is a framed Certificate "for long and meritorious service", signed by the Chairman of the NCB, awarded to my grandfather on his retirement in 1963, "in recognition and appreciation of 51 years loyal and efficient service to the Mining Industry and the Country". He started down the mines in 1909, aged 13, and retired at 65. (For those of you who are good at mental arithmetic, he spent the missing 3 years sojourning in France.)

We don't know we're born.

Led headlights are here. But I can’t fit the back cover now. There is no space for it.
Would it be a problem?

Water ingress may cause you problems then.

2 questions/remarks:

a) I assume these are not street legal, if they are, what make are they?
b) They may mess with the lighting ECU and throw a bulb error. Usually these need a change of ECU. Can you report if they work without throwing errors on the CAN bus?

Ta

Hi.
I got two from Banggood last year and as they didn't turn up in time I got a refund. They were in for five minutes as the beam pattern was totally wrong. Rated at 35watts there were no can bus errors.

Dip beam showing and set to the lowest beam setting.

I'd try them first before even considering modifying the rubber bung. Remember the new MOT rules will envoke a "dangerous" fail with these bulbs.

Well, the beam is pretty straight so, I’d say that they are road legal. I am not sure about that.

They are error free, with a canceller on them.
