No the clay stuck together perfectly. Like I said I made it VERY wet and only attempted in in the evenings so it was cool.

As for the swirl marks, its no worse than when I got it. Only difference is now there is a shine to it so they are less noticable. And the roof has that nice smooth glassy feeling now. Worked a treat for me.

I did my mums bonnet today and tried to replicate this as i use the same clay... it happened when i did it in direct sunlight and the surface was very warm and not enough lube... might be the cause!

Must be the heat then. I used plenty of glyde. My car was awful though full of pit marks everywhere. Is lovely and smooth now though :)

I'm going to try claying my car this week for the first time... guess I should avoid doing it while the car is hot.

i really noticed the difference. Ive had he punto for almost a year and just washed it in that time. a proper clean was well overdue.

i am hoping to borrow my parents steamer at the weekend and get the seats cleaned!!!

i bought a new clay bar this weekend and did my GP for the first time, and o my its now smooth, just need to get rid of my swirls, used SRP at the weekend and wasn't impressed but now found about you should do at least 5 passes  so gonna have another go this weekend

yeah, ive got some on mine i need to get rid of :(

srp works better in small quantities as well and when worked till clear!

yeah, be ok if its hot, just do it in the shade! spray some of the lube on your hands aswell.

you doing the tipo? bet it will be quite mucky if its never been done before!

Nah it's the Bravo getting the clay treatment. The Tipo has been polished loads so I guess negating the clay part. Plus she needs a trip to the bodyshop for rear arches again so will get her fully polished when she's in. Anyway she's got 1990s pain so it's thick and hard as nails.

So, the Bravo. Just finished with Meg's clay kit and very impressed. Gave it a clean with the karcher foam gun as it's only been 2 days since it got a full hand wash, then rinsed and took it under shelter to clay it. Quite fun really and was amazed how much dirt it brought off. Lots of yellowy stuff with the occasional black gunk which I'll guess is tar/tyre. Took back out to rinse and the water just flies off like water off a duck. So back in, take the thick of the water off and coated in SRP. Will buff that off to get the panels really clean, then give the car a coating of extra gloss protection, maybe 2 coats if the weather holds.

are you kidding me? first bit of sun we've had for ages and your moaning its too hot , , well suppose that is the average english man isn't it:p

yep moaning about the cold cannot get out
