my Sony xplod 1500w sub has stopped working in my punto, its making a buzzing noise (the amp)
the amp is a 1200w kenwood and was working perfectly for a year and i went to the shops..... didnt have the radio on loud then i noticed a loss in bass. I opened the boot to find the amp buzzing away so i tapped it and it worked again for 30 secs then started buzzing, when i move the amp and sub the buzzing goes alittle wierd like there is a bad connection somewhere but all connections are fine....
I made a vid of it (sorry its VERY dark)

when i disconnect the speaker the buzzing stops (but i reconnected the amp outside the car and the sub and it stopped buzzing so this leads me to believe theres a fault with the car......

but any idea what the problem could be?

honestly thats what i think it could be, ive just moved the ground wire to a better point (lights were dimming) about a week ago so ill have a good look thru the ground wire.......
ive just remembered i found a bolt under the rear seat i undone it, sanded it to bare metal and placed a wire around it and put the bolt back in, today my lass sat in the backseat ontop of where that wire is..... maybe the seat has has disturbed the connection to the ground....
ah ill check tomorrow and see what happens :)

Okay today i wasnt going to give up... ALL my connections are perfect but still buzzing quite badly so i took the amp off the car again znd noticed some damage on the middle where the screw goes......

so i took the cover off the back and noticed that the PCB screws had undone themselves.. (vibrating subwoofer) luckily no damage to the pcb but i noticed alot of play on the board...

this was looking abit scary but i didnt back down lol the hole in the centre of the pcb i noticed that it could flex and was shorting out as the bracket was aluminium so i did some more taking apart...

ok theres the bracket that shorting out everything...... i had a idea to use some padding and insulation tape to press the PCB without shorting the speaker out...

Reassembled the amp back together and VOILA perfectly working amp again!!!!
