im looking for all the cars that have a flip paint as standard
eg, alfa romeo blue/yellow flip
rover blue/purple flip
and if you could post the name of paint and a pic of it, that wud b great
thanx

flip?, um, none afaik. There are some like fiats 'ink black' which look different depending on the light shone at them, ie different under streetlights, or multistorey car parks, petrol stations etc, but for actual flip paint (with which the colour varies depending on the angle its viewed at) i dont theink there are any...

I can remeber nissan did a special edition with a sort of maroon / orange flip paint that looked quite cool but cant recall any others having it as standard!

re

there is definately a nissan micra with the above colour,

and the nissan primera came in a green/purple flip paint called mystical green or somethign i think, i looked at it as thought it woudl be cheaper than an aftermarket flip paint, but it wasnt much!

the alfa colours are more of a pearl,

lots of new cars have a pearl in thepaint, liek green pug 206cc, light blue citroen picasso?

Rover used to use Amaranthe, a blue/purple flip.

More recently, MG used Spectre, another purple based flip.

The nissan primera GT used tocome in cameleon, which was green through browne to orange/gold.

proper flip paint where the colour change is dramatic were as far as I can remember mostly limited to TVR's

Pearl effect paints are available on most makes of car

I think it was an option on Renault Scenic's as there is one that is nearly parked outside my local. It must be standard because can't see anyone actually paying money to spray a Scenic in purple-gold flip paint!!

Yeah the Nissan Primera had it on the top of the range model. A guy who used to work at the same office as me had one.

And the older Honda Accord Type-R's (mk1) had a 'Pirate's Black' which shone purple or blue depending on the light.

ink black bravo's are kinda flipish, not being biased at all because i have one but... its more a case of the whole car looking different colours in different lights, rather than from different angles!

i agree my hgt is in the ink black and there is no substitute really....... sometimes it looks blue others black and if you catch it in the right light it is sometimes purple

not sure if my orange bravo has. when the light hits it right it looks red and yellow. i think thats more of a sparkly fleck in the paint than a flip. looks nice though.

sassi grey the best colour blue/silver and changes colour in the light. joske will agree with me :) as my sig shows one at dusk and one in day.
