What can wear on an accelerator pedal?

Tell me, What can wear on an accelerator system rather than just a pedal, someone was telling that that there is a track that can wear?? is that right?

there is also the point at which the pedal is mounted. Pedals can develop wear at this point making the pedal move side-to-side.

This might have been what your friend meant by "track" as all the pedals are usually mounted on the same bar (well they are on my nova)
