What Can I Do With A Ka?

My gf is sitting her test in a couple of weeks and as she is a spoilt little wummin her folks halved in for an 06 Ka with her as her 21st pressie (I got 2 days in a hotel for my 21st )
Anyway, I thought it'd be nice to do something cool to her Ka for Xmas, nothing serious, cos she's not into mods or tints or owt OTT. I was thinking something clever, maybe some fancy extras/interior decor, but after searching the net I've come up stumped & concluded that most Ka owners are fandangos.
Any ideas? :idea:

Ok, please don't say sell it, swap it, cube it, wreck it, rally it, run it over in my lovely Stilo, trade it in, etc etc etc...

Anyone know anywhere to get ideas/cool stuff for a Ka? They are silly little cars & I know no-one loves a Ka, but there's got to be some cool stuff I can do with it!
(I looked at some of the super-modded Kas online, they might go fast and have body kits and tints, but they are still stupid looking little buggers which look like only girls should drive them.) :devil:

not seriously:- WHY THE (choose explitive) did they not get an 06 fiesta, MUCH better car, FFS the ka uses a prehistoric pushrod engine!!!! and they are built worse than any fiat since about 1985!!! (i'm talking turkish built tofas fiat ripoff aswell!).
MY mate has one, been mod'd to hell and he STILL hasn't passsed his test (they bought a 1997 ka, that had been crash'd dumped in a breakers yard for a year, then spruced up again, and painted in fiat exploit yellow:devil: , it has sat in his backgarden/house since about 1999, and he STILL hasn't past'd his test. virtually EVERY panel is rusting, and the best bit.

two weekends ago, he shut the bonnet a bit too hard, and the hinge collapsed, bonnet smashed windscreen!!!

Even funnier, its been taxed, tested, and insured THIS WHOLE TIME!!! what a waste of money I have never seen before!

As for the KA, can't think of anything good to do with one of them. I know just thought, lop the roof off and make it a StreetKA

A lassie round my way has a bright pink StreetKa, with full pink interior and it makes me shudder every time she drives by. Rank. :yuck:

Surely with the immense collected intellect of the Fiat Forum we can find something nice to do to her Ka, even if it's something small or some interior styling? I'm totally stuck, think I might just have to go buy her GPS for it- that's my fallback.

Ok I have something nice you can do with it, drive it flat out then put it in reverse and then the pair of you can count the pieces of the gearbox together

although I think you'll find most cars won't go into reverse when moving forward with any pace.
believe me I tried to kill the rally volvo so many times, and it wasn't having any of it

That Ka hasn't got a pushrod engine, it'll have a SOHC zetec thing

Is it a decent spec one or basic? I like the stitching the seats idea

no it's the 1.3 pushrod engine(called endurance or something?). unless its the 1.6 sport ka. unless ford have updated it it's basically an old fiesta with a new body.

how about some fluffy dice! you can't go wrong there!

Ford updated it around 2000, it's got a SOHC one now. Much better than the older one

im liking the stitching idea... failing that you could see if you could get lucky and get a sport ka leather intterior for it from ebay or a scrappy???

or... crack the window open and have lots and lots and lots of expannding foam.... fill it to the brim so it can never be used again :devil:

my friend with the 97 one is the cast iron pushrod one dating back to the late 50's (block).

and a girl that lived in the flat underneath ours (in with the bitch who crashed her punto into mine none less than three seperate times!!!) has a 2003 ka (bought for her by her parents for her 17, lucky but unlucky sht, along with a private plate and some other things) and that HAS the 1.3 pushrod motor found in anglia's and such

I've seen a V plate with a 1.4 duratec in it, and later (2000+) with the better zetec type 8v OHC lump, which is far better, but still prehistoric compared to what they are putting in the equivilent fiesta!!

just think of a ka as a fiesta's underpinnings (basic floorpan and layout), but with NONE of the nice bits, i.e the class leading handling, fantastic 1.25 16v zetec and the 1.6 16v zetec (the 1.6 a duratic inspired block? with aly head?). and a stupid ugly body.


Oh by th way, don't get into the rear seats of a ka, then get shunted from behind as you head may get lodged between top of rear bench and roof, at the same time as car hitting from behind, WHICH = crushed skull/ decapitated.
