i heard that if a 17 year old male/femal was to buy a westfield/caterham/lotus super seven. take out the engine and put in an 899cc engine from a cinquecento. it would still cost them around £2500 to insure. this is because the car is a seven esk.

if this is true let me know. if you people no more than me and its false let me know
 
this was in a modified car magazine


not for me its something i have been told by a friend who read it in a modified car magazine. me dad is buying an 1800 westfield in january
 
Insurance weighs up the risk involved. With the smaller engine they would be wondering why. If the rest of the car (bodywork electrics etc) were expensive to replace or if u were still looking for the same replacement value for the car then thats why. However, £2500 is about what u would pay on any car at 17!! :D
