Weird Exhaust Noise

When I firstly start my car up it makes a cow bell kind of noise, anybody got any ideas of why it could be making this noise?

check all ya brackets are still connected to rubber mounts, exhaust could be hittin part of car

Hi Paul, What engine is the Brav?

There are a few mounting points on the Exhaust..

One - on the back box
Two - the section just in front of the real n/s wheel
Three - near mid section

These are all rubber mounts and i would no expect these to just come loose unless one or more have perished..

There is also a change that the heat plate that covers the manifold has come loose..

Now dependent on what enigne you could have a plate that bolts underneath the engine which holds the down pipe in place...

Check all of these and report back..

Chances are it'll be a heat gaurd somewhere, also check the one on the CAT as this tends to rust on its weld points and rattles like hell when loose.

Cheers for the replies, it is a 1.6 100 SX 2001.

The exhaust is also quite wobbly so could it be that meaning that the bushes are gone?

as Karl said get underneath and check

also check your heatshield infront of the manifold.
