I have an AD182H head unit and a MCD36 CD changer in my P plate Bravo. On cold mornings the head unit keeps swapping modes (i.e. from Radio to Tape to CD). When it's really cold it does it so quick that the display flicks from one to the other but it doesn't actually change modes (like it would if you pressed the mode button really quickly).

Then, as the car warms up, this swapping gets slower and slower until it stops completely. When the swapping gets slow enough the mode does change and I get to listen to the Radio, Tape and CD player in quick succession for the first 10-15mins of my journey to work (It doesn't do this on the way home at night).

This, as you can imagine, is somewhat annoying. Anyone come across this before?

While I don't have a similar problem to you my radio has also started behaving strangely. My radio, when the ignition is switched off, requires the code to be entered when restarted. I don't think it is a fault with the permanent power supply as the radio can be turned on when the engine is off, although the code must be entered. If I do some long journeys in the car the problem appears to cease for a few days. I have had the battery checked and this is fine.

Does anyone have any suggestions at it is getting very irritating having to re-enter the code all the time.

Try this

John

Your problem might be solved if you disable the Code altogether. It's in the ownber manual how to do it. If you can't find it let me know an I'll dig out mine.
