Technical Water pump

Hey, I passed my test and am now driving my Cinquecento more ? but I noticed when I drive it for a while it squeaks. I reckon it is probably the water pump, as it only does it when it gets up to temperature. As mine is a late Cinquecento, is there any ideas on when it overheats IE a warning light. The belts and idler bearings are more likely to squeak
