Water injectors for turbos?

Dono if this is just me but i faintly remember reading about having water injectors for a turbo. Can this be put on a diesel turbo? And what costs/gains are there going to be?

I've heard of adapting washer jets to spray a mist of water onto oil coolers.

you wouldnt want to inject water into a turbo anyway

You spray water onto the FMIC to lower temps. Effect it will have on your car? 0.

Some of the the scooby lot spray direct INTO the intake... However this is done on a highly tuned set-up running really high boost level's and custom mapping.

Doing it on a pretty much standard diesel? hell no.

you spray a water / (m)ethonal mix into the cylinders, but done properly. using something like an aquamist mf2 (or your ecu if it supports it.. mine does ).

it helps when done right.

I run a cooling mist water/methanol injection on my supercharged MX-5, It allows me to run more boost as it helps to reduce the in-cylinder temperatures and so reduces the risk of detonation in the cylinders.

Have a look on the web for Aquamist, Cooling mist and Devils own they are the bigger guys out there and have loads of info on there web sites and THIS is a useful article.

You do need to have some serious modification for it to be of any use but diesels do take very well to WI
