Good morning all,
I recently joined and mentioned that had water in my boot well and I'd found a solution, i was ask to give a little more detail so here goes.
When you find water in your boot well and nothing above it is wet there is a good chance the water is coming in from under the rear bumper when you drive in the wet.
Remove this plastic trim. once removed you'll find six openings to a void between the vehicles skins, this is where the water pools, if you poor water into it you will see it drain out the bottom.
In the picture you can see a small hole under the boot catch, this is the lowest point of the void space, because the plastic trim fixing is hollow is allows the water to enter the boot well. I tapped this hole to allow a bolt with a rubber and metal washer to hold the trim in place preventing the water from entering.
The black caps you can see are metal bar end caps, 50mm x 50mm purchased from ebay, they just prevent any splash over.
This is the trim in place with the bolt.
I couldn't figure out how to get the bumper off and as the water doesn't sit, it runs out, it was my next best option.
