Technical Warranty Question for Gearbox

Ok guys got feedback from garage and i have a problem. Apparently the two sensors that control the electronic clutch arent in sync so when i change gears i am damaging the box and if i dont get it fixed it will fail just like the last time.
At least they found out the problem = )
So they will investigate it more and check it out.
Oh and I got a Jeep Patriot 2.4 as a courtesy car. Bye bye cash for petrol = (

I'd be interested to know what these '2' sensors are on the clutch.

No idea! Maybe its one and i misunderstood. Anyway they said they are keeping it tomorrow to run 'some tests'.
Thank god its still under warranty so they can take their time but if it takes a week or so to get the parts i may ask for a more 'economical' courtesy car!!

The only manufacturer I have found so far that sets out the detailed terms of its warranty online is VW. That clearly says that parts fitted under warranty are only covered for the duration of the original warranty:

Any repairs carried out and paid for by manufacturer only covers the remainder of the warranty on the vehicle, could be one day. Will not cover warranty on warranty if your know what i mean.
Any repair paid for / or contributed to by customer has a 2 yr warranty on parts fitted ( not 1 yr ). If fault is not due to a part not previously fitted it is not covered.

These are very useful inputs.(y)
The only scope you would have is if a part replaced under warranty went again outside the warranty period is on 'Goodwill'.

From personal experience I offered to make a contribution for one of these 'Goodwill' gestures but it was qualified that there would be 'no comeback' so one would not have the benefit of a 'contract'.

Looks like all manufacturers are singing off the same hymn sheet.

understandable really, there has to be a cutoff date

Does hitting the 'rev limiter' count.

Yes i do lift when shifting. If you dont you feel like you are literally tearing the box apart, especially in 1st and 2nd gear. downshifting is very smooth but obviously never downshift to 1st = )

Your driving it to hard then TBH, if in eco mode should never feel like that even when flooring it!

Ok guys got my car back. They said the issue is electronic with the sensor not giving the right instructions to the box. They tested it today for a while (either that or they had a joyride as i gave it full tank and now its 3/4 only!) at least they didnt mind when i told them i used about 10 euros of petrol on the jeep without filling up. Anyway they did ecu reset and so far so good. They said if it happens again let me know. So i doubt this a result of my driving style. Either that or i ask too much of the brain of the gearbox!

fingers crossed it was just a misaligned sensor (y)

Inshallah. I am happy i know what the issue is now so if it happens again i wont drive through it until the seals break! So far so good and ill try being kinder to her.

You could have dis-connected the battery yourself for about 30 seconds and it would have 'saved' you having to do without the car.

i doubt God cares about your gearbox but good luck anyway :)

it was a joke! seriously though, now that i know the problem i can go straight to the dealer. the first time my gearbox failed i had driven with this issue for months because the previous garage i took it to (it is now bankrupt) insisted there is no problem! This new garage figured it out the second they checked it out! during the problem until it failed, i had just kept it in auto most of the time when it doesnt do this at all. So now i can prevent failure. Lets just hope the computer knows what its doing and isnt too moody!
