warranty con

warranty con

you only get 2 years, after that its the worthless dealer warranty, so anything over 2 years is decided by the dealers who provide the warranty, if something goes wrong after 2 years you dont expect the warranty to cover it becasue the dealer pays rather than fiat so they always find ways out. thats the real con.

but the 3rd year dealer warranty can be carried out at any dealer not only the one that sold the vehicle

a dealer warranty will only be honoured by the dealer who's name appears on the warranty document, this can often be a chain (e.g. reg vardy) meaning you can go to any franchise in the chain, but you cant go to a different dealer and expect them to fix your car for free. i doubt you'll ever find one that will, why would they do something for free unless they are legally obliged?

this is why you lose the dealer warranty when you buy online (hence "full fiat warranty" statement), but the money you save more than pays for it, and you still get your 2 years fiat warranty which is valid at any fiat dealership same as with any new fiat no matter where you buy it from.

ive phoned fiat uk this morning and they have told me that the 3rd year warranty is honoured at any fiat dealership,i explained my concern but this is what they say

then why is it called a dealer warranty?

you should ask them 1 simple question, what is the difference between the fiat warranty and the dealer warranty?

just make a quick call to any fiat dealership ive called 2 and been told the same, the 2 yr fiat warranty covers everything, the dealer warranty only covers engine and gearbox but any claim is paid by fiat not the dealer

Don't know where the idea that the third year warranty only covers engine and transmission, I've had the anti roll bar drop arms replaced and a new rear beam, both under warranty.

most things 'are' covered by third year warranty (things like switches etc aint though) also dealer has to apply for authorisation to carry out the work from third party so its not dealer warranty in the strictest sense.

if your service schedule is out then more than likely your (and dealers) claim will be rejected.
