Hi everyone! I have a 2017 500X Lounge that is randomly flashing warning lights for my DRL's, park lights and now today it did it for my brake lights. All of these are working fine, or at least appear to be. I am worried that maybe I am having a computer issue because I have had it checked and all of my sensors seem to be fine as well. Anyone else experienced this? If so, what did you do or have done to remedy? Any suggestions will be appreciated because although I love my car, I'm over it and about ready to trade it in because this has been going on for months. Thanks!

I've had that happen in my 2015 500X Lounge (diesel). The problem was a rear light cluster, the wires had melted and caused various electrical problems, it was an easy fix by the dealer. Apparently, it is a common problem. There was an older thread about it...

*edit* here it is:

500X DRLs that use traditional bulbs as opposed to the later LEDs are notorious for melting the bulb holders. Most Fiat garages stock these holds as they are always melting yet Fiat do nothing about it.

You will find that with the DRL's you will get a dash board warning then after driving down the road where motion/bumps etc. occur then the bulb settles again in the holder and when you check all is working OK.

At some point the bulb will certainly require replacing as they get black and overheated. The hold can be tweaked but is ideally replaced. Replacing is a DIY job and not too expensive. Around £15 inc VAT I think.

Interesting, because I'm using LEDs for my DRLs since the first day I got the car, I never had this problem.

Without entering the "legality" of using of replacing 21W filament bubs with LEDs how do you get on with the new MOTs.

When I replaced my reversing light which was pants with an LED version out of interest I tried one in my DRL. Car did not complain but when the headlamps were turned on the LED DRL only dimmed fractionally compared to the 21W bulb. DRL dimming is tested (well is supposed to be) in the MOT and I would think that it would fail in this respect.

This morning when I started it gave me an all new warning -"warning - break in attempt detected". I checked my cameras and there was no one around my car at all throughout the night. This is really starting to worry me that my car is throwing out all these warnings falsely. It's the Fiat who cried wolf....
