warning lights

hi guys,

i have a question.

my car (2007 Grande Punto 1.9 Multijet Sporting) started making a strange ticking noise coming from the engine, i drove down the road to see if it was driving any differently, and the battery light came on. then shortly after, a beeping noise appeared and on the display it said,
power steering failure, abs failure, airbag failure. after this i had to put all my strength into turning the wheel.

basically i dont want to turn the car back on as i dont want to do further damage.

as just the battery light came on first, would it be worth taking the battery out and charging it, then give it another go? or maybe i need a new battery.

does anyone have an idea of what this could be?

would like to have a general idea of the problem before i put it in a garage so i dont get mugged off.

First thing to do is check your grounds! One could be dodgy. If they look fine, bypass them anyway with a jumper cable to the engine block.

If this isn't the case, could be your battery!
