Hi everyone first time posting need help
some delightful individual has dented my wing (nice Christmas present) had it popped out but needed filing as there was a crease. On respray when sprayed using code on car it looks baby blue with a clear lacquer on it, the colour matched until lacquer was applied any ideas??

its a 61 plate twin air in Volare blue (2 years old today)

whilst fiats can be a pain to match, if they only painted the dent then rather the whole panel it will never match, as it all depends on the angle of the spray
and the paint mixer and the make and so many other things
sounds like your paintshop isnt a paintshop

Its the whole panel has been has been done drivers side wing. not paying until its complete and i'm happy. Guy is experienced and recommended to do the work. he's contacting Fiat to check Paint code etc. Just wondered if fiat paint is difficult to match cars a 61 plate ex demo so not an old car.

If you are comparing the wing to the front bumper you may see a very slight difference. The wing being metal & the bumper plastic, different primers are used. If you look closely at any new car there is usually a subtle change in colour between the metal & plastic parts. Some companies like Honda have their plastic parts painted by sub contractors & then fit them to the cars.

However, the wing, compared to the door, should be indistinguishable. Anything less, reject it.

yes as i said fiat metallics are quite often difficult to match
its often better to get the original paint makers paint on something this new rather than mix from his own stock
if you look at the paint code sticker if they still use them it will tell you on here who made the paint,i think its usually beyer

ive never been able to get the silver paint mixed right for fiats but the other week i had a polish guy make me some up and the match is so good i didnt need to blend it into the door now thats a first for me

anyway reject reject reject
