I don't know if it's my idea but I'm feeling a very little vibration when the car is not moving and the engine is on. I can feel that by touching the steering wheel (and only this way). I also noticed that the revs are varying slightly when the car is not moving, since the gauze is moving up and down (but very very little). I don't remember if this was happening since I got the car but I definitely noticed it last weekend. Is it normal? Does anyone else has the same experience? If it's not normal what it might be? I was sure that it's not normal but then last Saturday we had the delivery of a new Punto for my gf and it has the same feeling...

What sort of temps have you been getting in Switzerland the past few weeks, if the engine is cooling down then the computer will raise the revs slightly to warm the engine up maybe (like from a cold start), then drop the idle when the computer is happy with the engine temp.

Could just be over cooling.

We had warm and sunny days the last couple of weeks and it happened with the engine being warmed up. It seems that there is a constant but very little variation (I could only guess that it's less than 10-20 rpm), with short intervals. For 5 sec the revs are up and then down. For the moments that are up I could feel the vibration on the steering wheel as well.

You`re not driving a high prize luxury car!
Small vibrations and ratteling noises can happen...
It is a Fiat after all...

Bart, I'd expect it in our diesels, thats part of the price for performance AND economy, but the petrols should be silky smooth;)

The corsa hire car I had the other week was so much so I sometimes had to look at the rev counter to check it was on[:0] and if vauxhall can manage it in a tiny weeny corsa...

Grigoris, maybe a faulty stat? It just seems strange both your cars are the same... maybe Bart is right after all;)

yeah the diesels can be stronger sometimes ... i had a problem with the the revs going up and down ... which often resultet with the engine fault light ... i went into the garage and i'm waiting for a part to be delivered and changed ... its the part that is very close to the injection and is controling the work of the engine when it is in NEUTRAL ... i understand this from the guy in the garage ... which mustnot be 100%true cause i'm not good at the mechanical parts of the car.
