Bravo (Classic) Van with a difference!!!.

Introduction

Heres the replacement for my highly abused yet extremely reliable Bravo.... Another Bravo (y) I'm moving up a year here :D Not going to be bitten like the last time, this is going to have a strip down and re-rustproof with a few bits to be thrown in too (copper lines all round are in the plans). Most importantly, this car is going to be converted to a van and painted black with some "toys" installed... More pics soon! :)

Everyone, here's a twist... I've gone bananas in the wrong way to most!

A series of unfortunate events has led me to whip my engine and box out. Back to a standard engine and 5 speed for now. Also, farewell to the Lensos for now too, well I was going to change them for the Trofeo wheels I had lying about anyway... Putting steels on instead

So, here's what I've had to leave behind!

It was quick :worship::worship::worship: I have plans for that setup too... ;)

But why did I do this? I have to get the car tested :) It would never pass a test with the tyres, box or lack of catalyst! However its almost right as I type this :) engine needs putting in this week (y)

Why bother changing the whole lot? Too much to fabricate. Easier to have the engine out and use another one which would accept my cat :)

Here is madmans country :spin:

Yes, 2 Bravos with no engines :ROFLMAO:

Anyways my van

Something missing there... Out in under 1 hour!

Gave me a chance to brighten up the subframe though

That's all for now as I don't have the engine in yet...

I had an engine swap planned anyway just not so soon! :bang:

Do keep watching, I'm full of surprises :yum:

Can I just say EPIC!
I would have chucked the towl in a long time ago, I just want my cars to work once done!
Its taken a good few hours for me to read though this though out the day but well worth it.
Well done mate

I'm sure you've heard this before, but you are bonkers mate!

Cheers! I must be at this stage :spin:

Glad you enjoyed the thread (y)

Yep common sense went out the window with this one, alas I now have a van that I know inside out :) Might not be right at the moment but I'll have that sorted soon (y)

i think he just like dismantling cars and putting them back together tbh, how many builds you got on the go mal?

Got it in one :D people get enjoyment out of sports, playing games, travelling etc, this is how I get my kicks :slayer:

Projects, there's 3 not including the daily hacks or the Polo. Over the weekend I was working on 2 Bravos

But what was involved with the other Bravo???

Probably the only time I'll put up pics of some of the work on that car in this thread (y)

can i ask where you got your intake pipe from? that engine you rebuilt and painted red looks amazing, would love to do that one day for my car with a 1.4 16v

hi mate nice project, gonna use some of ur pics to try get some stuff done to mine, a few questions on parts. where or what headlights is that you have i think yours look far better than my poverty spec ones, and also where did you get the dial surrounds? thanks paul

The pipe I made up myself from a useless but relatively good exhaust :D You need a K&N kit for a Punto 85 for the filter end, aluminium ducting for a house for the ducting and a reducer for the pipe onto the tb :)

Glad you enjoyed the thread (y)

The lights are from a Marea ELX/HLX and require modifying to the plug for the sidelights to work. There's a brilliant guide here :)

The dial surrounds I made up myself with some white paint, quite tedious! There is an Abarth set of dials you can get these are ultra rare though. To do the dials like mine you need to dismantle the speedo :)

brilliant mate might give it a bash then . had the speedo out already to do a blue led bulb replacement. so im goin on the presumption then the bolts will match up fine then and no drilling etc or buggering about to get them to fit its just straight in ?? im sure i can do the wiring no problem. one question on that tho is it a completely diffferent hape for the bulbs? iv not had the head lights out my HID's should be here in the morning so will have them apart then, im sure this will be a laugh if its all different. lol.

The speedo is held in with 4 or 5 allen screws. The surround is fiddlier to get off, 4 allen screws and a phillips screw under the vent! The speedo is clipped together, easy to dismantle :)

Headlights ar a straight fit. The HIDs I use are unbranded but work well. They're H1s aswell so no changes there. Bulb is slightly longer but will fit in with no problems :)

Is my mates fez on her winter wheels.. took me ages ton convince him orange would look good lol

I think I won't bother with the 17s again for a while, but I'll be getting another set of steelies (possibly use the Vectra rims reamed out a bit) and going bananas with all sorts of colours :D

The engines almost ready to go in....
