Tuning valve clearance 2.5D

Hi all.I`m trying to find the correct valve clearance for my 2.5D 8140.67 sofim engine.The Peter Russek manual says 0.40mm while my Ducato hand book says
0.50mm.Can anyone clarify this please..

Iveco Daily manual says 0.5 +/- 0.05mm, wider would be slightly more low end torque, slightly less top end power. Pulling a van with an NA engine I would go with the fiat / iveco gap.

Hi,,thanks for the info..does the Iveco daily have my engine (8140.67) & are all 2.5 variations the same valve clearance.?

Yes same engine the daily manual lists the clearances for about 6 variations all same clearance will see if I can send you a link later.

Got it, Thanks again...seems that the Russek manual is wrong. I wonder how many more errors there might be with this manuel ?

Seems to be a difference of opinion anyway I have a german third party manual that also says:

"Die Spiele aller Ventile betragen 0,40 mm bei einem 2.5-Liter-Motor bzw. 0,50 mm beim 2.8-Liter-Motor. "

The 'play' for all valves should be 0.40mm in a 2.5l engine and 0.50mm in a 2.8l engine.

aghhhhhh now i`m confused...but i think i should trust what the Fiat handbook
says 0.50mm.

When in doubt, always take the larger clearance.
