looking at used Cinq and Sei and the sale prices seem all over the place

I want to pick up a good runner in presentable condition with at least 3 months tax/test

Doesn't have to be perfect but equally don't want a basket case

899 would be fine but 1100 better as have experience and spares

Maybe this is a sign of impending classic status?

I'd buy (and price) according to condition, especially bodywork on Cinqs (beware the rear wheel arches, beware) and stay away from 899 cars and S and SX Seis of any capacity (gearbox issues). Also Schumakers (all show and no go, inflated prices, ABS issues, generally overpriced and a fair few fakes out there).

With care, £500 - £600 buys a decent car.

I have a sei 1108cc sx ! Theres nout wrong with them.... quick enuf round the corners for me i paid 350 for mine with 3month tnt 150 pounds spent and its like a new car! Id like to race a sporting apparently i can reach 150kmh in 4th and sporting only 142or so?

Seen a few Seis with rusty rear arches as well.

If you're planning on modding it then get whatever has the best body, if you want standard then I'd say keep an eye out for a tidy Cinq Sporting.

As for prices, take advantage now! I'm sure they'll go up eventually but they'll become alot rarer before that.

Tell me again when you loose a gearbox/driveshaft oil seal.

Yep. You need the box, driveshafts, gearbox cables, clutch cable, reversing light switch connector. Probably clutch, ideally starter motor, but it is do-able.
